Welcome to first grade! This year is packed with exciting transitions. Your child will leave behind some of the play associated with kindergarten to embark on a new journey that will significantly develop their academic, social, and problem-solving skills. Reading and math lessons will be more extensive and students will be learning to think more critically; they will also acquire higher order thinking skills. First grade is a very important stepping stone for your child so it is important for parents and teachers to work together to strengthen their learning skills and ensure their academic success this year.
