In 2011, Baltimore City School Board approved the public charter application to convert our current school to Furman L. Templeton Preparatory Academy. Furman L. Templeton Preparatory Academy operates on a year-round calendar that differs from Baltimore City Public School System. As a public charter school, we will now be governed by a local board comprised of business members, community members, and elected parents. Moreover, we must follow Maryland law that governs charter schools.
Who Can Apply?
The enrollment application must be complete for each child that you wish to attend Furman L. Templeton Preparatory Academy . The enrollment application is available by clicking the button below. Applications must be filled out by custodial parents or legal guardians only. Each form should be returned to the school for processing and verification. All registration forms will be divided into ‘in zone’ and ‘out-of-zone’ registrations. A waiver approved by the Baltimore City School Board gives all in-zone students preferential seating. All out-of-zone students will be placed in the lottery process. If your child is selected for enrollment, you will be asked to supply proofs of residency. If your child’s application is selected in the lottery, a list of acceptable documents to proofs of residency will be provided to you.
How do I submit an application?
Enrollment Applications can be submitted using any of the methods below:
Turn in the application to the main office at Furman L. Templeton Preparatory Academy ( 1200 Pennsylvania Avenue ) Monday through Friday, between 8 AM and 3 PM (recommended)
When hand delivering your application it is possible the school could be closed ( intercession break, holidays, etc..) or have an early release day, please contact the school office first to ensure school is in session at 410-396-0882.
